Miniature globe, Y. Sukagawa (Japanese), 1914-1924
Diameter 7cm, total height 15cm. 1914-1924 A terrestrial Japanese globe on turned wooden base. It is probably s toy globe for children and was meant for the American market. On the cartouche the words ‘Tokyo and made in Japan’ are probably scratched off in the second world war. Place names are in English. On the cartouche it says: ‘Y. Sukagawa, Tokyo, Made in Japan’. The Japanese properties are outlined in red eg Manchuria
The globe is damages at the equator. It is restaurated but it has discolorations around the crack. Because of the damage a strongly reduced price.
